IN THE SPIRIT OF THANKSGIVING...

I know this should have been posted before the holiday; but, if you know me...I am usually late when it come to such things (holiday's, birthday's, the like).  In my rationalization I tell myself, "It's a way to extend...(the holiday, birthday, whatever).

I am thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ (I'm admittedly still working on the Lord part [praise the Lord for grace]).

I am thankful for my wife and children (both adults now)

I am thankful for our jobs and that a portion of our resources goes towards helping others (for God's glory, not ours).

I am thankful for more, but I shall digress from this exercise of self-thankfulness.

I wish I could be thankful for experiencing the power of the Lord, in the manner found in the Bible.  Now, don't get me wrong; I know, I know I can't just drop a quarter in the slot (opps, just dated myself) and expect God to do my bidding.  The way I read it the apostles made themselves available to the service of the Lord; and, in so doing the Lord worked through them exhibiting His power to accomplish things that glorify Him.

Let me start with this, what are two things (I know there's more, but I'm making a point) satan is known for (qualities, characteristics)?
RIGHT! being a liar (John 8:44) and a deceiver (2 Cor 11:14 & Rev 20:10).

So, recently we've gotten (is this proper English?) into watching "The Andy Griffith Show" lately on Netflix, (now where is he going with this).  I've noticed a tread that I didn't see before becoming a believer in Jesus Christ.  On a regular basis, Sheriff Andy Taylor will lie or be deceiving all covered with the frosting of good intentions.  I'm not able to cite episodes; perhaps over the course of the next several weeks I'll take note and post them.

Am I saying Andy Griffith or Sheriff Taylor are the devil; please, show some intelligence.  Hollywood put this out.  Now, I have no way of knowing if the writer(s) were intentional about this but read the following verse and ask, "What should someone do when watching something like this?" (The Andy Griffith Show) (Proverbs 12:22).

There is a reason God the Father is so strict about purity; because Satan is strategically crafty at manipulating a slow drift from the Truth.  Thank Goodness for His grace.
